Just a few days after the release of version 1.33 version 1.34 pops up. Again no changlog (couldn’t find it). Go get it at nullriver software. Keep streaming all your movies / pictures / etc. to your playstation 3

Well, as a new mac owner I have bought this bundle yesterday. I must say it has some really handy apps. Below you can see the list of apps provided. There is a small downside to this list…… Some apps are locked…
The only way to get this unlocked is for you guys to unlock it for me

Update Medialink to 1.33 Upnp –> PS3
Today this pop-up showed up on my screen:
What the update does is not clear to me, but there must be improvements or bug-fixes.
I hope that it includes some re-encoding option although I haven’t found these option in the systempreferences settings.
However just download the update it’s a nice and small download:
Don’t forget to start your server, I noticed that after the installed it’s not started automaticly again….
BTW I use medialink to stream video to my PS3 but offcourse it works with all kinds of different Upnp compatible devices…….

Playing video on the Mac
When trying to play some movies on my Mac I noticed that several codecs are not part of OS X or quicktime at least. One way to fix this is to install VLC player.
As a former user of the Microsoft platform this was my first move. I must say it works similar as on a windows based machine (that means perfect). However I forgot / did not change the filetype association for some movie files. So it happened several times that quicktime was started instead of VLC (quicktime did not play the movie because it misses the codecs). I ran into Perian “The Swiss armyknife for Quicktime” I installed it and a lot of codecs were added to the system. Now it seems that quicktime is able to play most(maybe all) of my movies!!!! Really need to have software for all movie watching Mac owners! Here is the link to the Perians Homepage.
Chatting on an Apple Mac
Well as im working my way thru the world of Apple I tried some chat applications. The first one to try was offcourse ichat(comes with the OS). The fun was only short to be honest. I don’t know anyone with a mac and as far as I know you’ll need one to be able to use this program. So I installed amsn , with this I was able to chat but i still had no video , however the voice chat was really good. Then I tried Skype , this was a direct hit. Very easy to use and instandly setup (already had an account) The video images from my buildin webcam also worked perfectly fluent! So for now I will use Skype. As I’m still interested in Ichat maybe you wanna connect with me so I can give it a try. Maybe theres an easy way to connect to some chatroom with it so I can try it’s funcitonality?
Apple Imac
It’s been some time ago since i’ve written anything on this blog. Main reason was that my old pc broke down. I had some spare time to kill investigating what pc I was going to buy. I’ve finally come to a decision and bought an Apple Imac with a 24″ screen. So far so good. The machine performs really well and has a great screen and looks…. I still have to get used to the os (Operating System) but it seems that i’m going to love it I bought the machine last week so I had some time to play around with it. I will try and keep you updated on my transfer from Windows to OS X. For now the only issue is that I cannot (yet) connect to my work in a proper way , but hey I haven’t really made any effort for that during easter What I like most at the moment is that it’s so easy to connect hardware to. I hooked up a Lacie firewire drive and my ipod and it just works. Also the wireless router i’ve bought (also Apple) was really easy to configure (just a few mouseclicks).. What an experience. I tried making a widget also and to my own surprise I succeeded It was a really simple coundown widget (thanks HowTube for the great tutorial podcast) but I might build a more usefull one in the near future.Things to do for now :
1 Get a connection to my work (need an mac ICA client) probably just download and install….
2 Get windows installed on my mac (still need it for MS office, might buy office 2008 for the mac)
3 Install World of Warcraft (should just run since it says so on the box)
4 Get to know some people with a mac so i can test ichat ( Mac is not used by any of my friends)…If you have any nice applications I should really try please let me know !!!

It seems that Sony might need to update their firmware earlier than expedted. ps3hacks reports that there is an exploit that makes it possible to bypass the age verification system. This might make it possible to (in the end) create a loader to be able to run homebrew software.

Today I came across this site. It is the site of the creator of a theme you can use with windows mobile. For those who cannot wait for Apple Inc. to release their phone and already have a windows mobile 5 phone. As I understand there are still a few bugs for some phones? But it looks great!!!! The longest day
For some reason monday is always the most diffecult day for me at work. I have some ideas why, but I don’t seem to manage to change these patterns. The problem starts friday I think. I’ll probably be out or at home having some fun and a few beers. After the beers I tend to sleep to at least 11 in the morning. After a slow wake-up (takes 2 hours) we (my girlfriend and I) usually go out to buy our weekly groseries. Saturday evening is party-time there’s always a good reason to drink and stay up late. After this I like to sleep to about 10am and after that take care of my hobby(see other posting). The rest of the day we usually visit family or get visitors…. When I go to bed around midnight I don’t feel tired at all so i cannot sleep untill 3 in the morning. Then when finally sleeping the alarm goes off and it’s 6:30. Time to go to work and feel tired the entire day because of the lack of sleep 
. This happens pretty much every week and I know it’s no good but for some reason I cannot change this pattern……. HELP

Racing Day
One of my hobbies is modelcars. Below you see a picture of my 1:6 scale modelcar.
It is a Gator Pro with a 26cc gasoline powered engine. In the sidebar you can see my car and others in action. We will race again tomorrow and I hope the car stays in one piece………..

I think this is called a Lunar Eclipse in english. This was the moon half an hour ago in the Netherlands. I used an old digital camera but the result was not even that bad. Even a nicer picture can be found on wikipedia . It also contains a picture of today.
Wii – Exite Truck
I bought Exite Truck today for my Wii. I must say that I was amazed how good the graphics look. Probably not what a PS3 can show but good enough. It’s a racing game and I hope there will be many more for the Wii. The Trucks are controlled by tilting the controller up or down. In the beginning it’s a little weird, but once you are used to it it works great. I didn’t think the response of the controller would be that good. It’s a fun game and I think it’s best to play with friends like most Wii games… However the single player modes seem ok also. I do think that single player mode is a little to easy although im not that far yet. For sure it’s one of the best games for the Wii at the moment!

Today I’m really wondering what triggers people to visit my blog. What is the best way to share my thoughts and the news I and maybe some find interesting?
I already entered a rss feed via a site called feedburner. I’m not quitte sure what it does, but it seems to generate some traffic. I would like some more interaction but i’ve read somewhere that your lucky if 10% even leaves a message…..
The most frightning thought is that I put a lot of time in the Blog and no one is interested in it… This would make my blog useless… Tell me what you think so far and give me some input to improve….. Remember I just started this and want to add something……… Thanks for your help!
Vista – choose your hack…………
I was really surprised to see all the hack news today regarding Microsoft’s Vista.
Offcourse there where already many items written why not to start using Vista, but now it seems the few that bought Vista are doing nothing else than trying to hack the OS. If you feel lucky you might want to try to brute force the yourself towards a key…..Another hack reported today is to activate Vista via a bios-flash although this seems risky and a lot of work, someone created a bootable cd/usbstick that creates a bootpartition and emulates the hacked bios so basicly no risk is taken and the proces is much easier. This hack uses the oem supplier keys to activite Vista permanently without any interaction with Microsoft.
I cannot see why anyone would like to try since you’ll need to buy a new computer first and then find out that it doesn’t run your programs a well as your previous OS. This might be the reason why Apple sold twice as many Macs
